Fall is officially a month away and clothing stores are slowly but surely starting to introduce their respective Fall collections! During this time many of us start to wonder how we can prepare for Fall and the cold weather season without breaking the bank. Whether your workplace dress code is casual or business-casual, we have listed some tips and tricks to help you kickstart your shopping journey.
TIP 1 - Thrift Wherever and Whenever you Can!
Blazers are a must-have during the Fall season as they are stylish, sophisticated and enhance any look, whether you’re wearing jeans and a t-shirt, a pencil skirt or a dress. While blazers are readily available at stores such as Zara, H&M and Mango, make sure you check out your local thrift stores such as Value Village or virtual thrift stores such as Depop as they carry so many different styles, colours and options with an affordable price tag.
TIP 2 - Use what you Already Own.
A flowy maxi or fitted midi dress in the summer is always a great idea! Not to mention, they make getting ready in the mornings easy and are a great transition piece as you go from the Summer to the Fall Season; add a blazer or a jacket and you’ve got that professional and stylish look.
TIP 3 - Wear Florals in the Fall
Contradictory to popular belief, you can wear florals during the Fall season, especially if said floral patterns are darker and have muted tones. Adopting these floral patterns will not only complement key Fall pieces such as blazers, cable knit sweaters and cardigans but it will make your transition from Summer to Fall that much easier (and affordable).
